7 High Protein Breakfast Ideas

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  If you’re doing a specific diet, such as focusing on high protein during meals it is important to start the day with the a good high protein breakfast.  Sometimes a diet can feel like your options are limited in terms of foods you can eat and meals you can prepare. So, here are 7 high protein breakfast ideas. One for every day of the week.

egg spinach scramble

Egg and Spinach Omelette

A great quick and easy high-protein breakfast consisting of ingredients you can find in any fridge. Here’s a recipe on NYT.  Want to make it even quicker? Just sautee the spinach, crack a 2-3 eggs over them and mix them all in the frying pan.  May look messy, but the taste is the same.

Almond Flour Pancakes

Pancakes are everyone’s favorite.  But they’re not the most healthiest option if you’re doing a high protein diet or paleo.  It’s a good thing you can make them using almond flour. Almond flour pancakes are packed with protein and very low in carbs. Take a look at Skinny Fatski’s recipe.

Eggs and Bacon

This is a classic. It has to be part of this list.  Make your eggs anyway you like and don’t skimp out on bacon. Instead of standard two trips, go for 4 or 5 with 3 eggs or so.

Egg White Frittara

Watching your calories? Egg White Frittara is a good high protein breakfast idea to go for while keeping the calories low. Try this recipe or create your own just by substituting with your own ingredients.

Protein Shake

I’ve got a great recipe for a delicious post-workout shake, it’s high in protein but even higher in carbs. It is intended to be consumed right after your workout. But to reduce the carbs, remove the banana. Now you have a great tasting high protein smoothie.

Turkey Sausage Egg Muffin

Easy to make and easy to bake. Turkey sausage egg muffins are low in calories and carbs, but high in protein. The recipe is flexible for you to try your own variations and ingredients.

Egg Baked Avocado

Get some healthy fats and lots of protein in you with this easy to prep recipe. Just stick it in oven as you get ready for your day. Egg baked avocado is paleo friendly, low carb and low sugar.
