It’s Not About Having Time, It’s About Making Time

August 9, 2012 By Trainer Andrei Leave a Comment

I’m sure you heard that statement before.

Not having enough time is the number one excuse I hear why people don’t exercise, join gyms or recreational leagues, hire personal trainers or care to do anything about their personal health.

There isn’t a diplomatic or a polite way of putting this so I’ll tell you how it is.  You’re not special. Everyone doesn’t have time.  We’re all strapped for it. We spend hours in traffic to get to work. We all must juggle daily demands of family life, and between getting kids’ lunches ready to driving them to their after school activities can eat up a lot of your time.  That’s understandable, take care of your family first.  But I’m sure there are a lot of things we do that are a complete of waste time.  And it always seems like there’s something better to do than hit the trails, push some weight or go for a swim.

Those who decide to take care of their personal health, make time.  They don’t complain, whine or make excuses.  They’re just as busy as the rest of us. But they do whatever it takes to make the time to squeeze in a 20 minute HIIT circuit, 30 minute walk around the block or get to the gym 2-3 times a week.  They understand that in order to make it happen they need to make a few small sacrifices because the end results are always worth it.
