Christmas Gift Ideas a Personal Trainer Would Approve

Last year I wrote a post suggesting a few Christmas gift ideas for fitness buffs.  Continuing that tradition, this year I am recommending a few more products that any fitness buff or gym-rat will love as a Christmas gift or a stocking stuffer.  My recommendations are based my experience with these products; and as personal trainer and a fitness geek, I’d love to get some of these myself.

Entry Fee Into Spartan Race, Tough Mudder or Warrior Dash

Earlier this year I participated in all three of these.  Not only competing in obstacle races challenges you physically and mentally, they were a lot of fun.  If you know of someone who will be making a New Year’s Resolution to get in shape, a paid entry fee to any of these events will be an additional motivator. Prices range: $50-$170

Withings Scale

Withings WiFi ScaleThis is ideal for fitness buffs who like numbers.  I’ve been wanting to get one these since they were released. Withings scale Tracks and monitors your lean and fat mass.  Allowing you to keep an eye on your fitness progress. This is actually a great device for the whole family, as it stores up to 8 users and charts everyone’s progress automatically in a web dashboard via Wi-Fi Connection. You can find it on Amazon for around $160, but I’ve seen other places sell for less.

Fitbit One

fitbit one activity trackerAnother cool gadget for fitness geeks. Fitbit One is a wearbale device that tracks your physical activity.  The most recent model even tracks your sleep.  As all bodybuilders, fitness competitors and athletes know, sleep is one of the best things for your body.  Fitbit’s sleep tracking technology monitors your sleep cycle allowing you to track, review and optimize your sleep. Decently priced at $100.

Gymboss

Gymboss Interval Timer
. I recommended it last year and will also recommending it this year.  For $20, you can’t go wrong.

Gift Cards to Sporting Stores and Supplement Shops

Can’t decide what to get for the fitness buff or a personal trainer on your list? Gift cards to a Sports Apparel store like Sport Chek or online supplements store like bodybuilding.com is always a good idea.
